Communication and language development are about more than talking. It refers to all of the various ways in which a student comprehends and communicates, only a portion of which are expressed through spoken words. Communication and language development is important because speaking is an indicator of fine motor skill development as well as a reflection of cognitive development. Reading is one of the most effective methods of promoting communication and language development in children. People's ability to interact and communicate effectively for the purpose of conveying a message is made possible by the ability to communicate effectively in language. Language skills can be improved by improving the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These four skills can be improved by practicing them regularly. The fact that the four language skills are sometimes referred to as "macro skills of language" is also important to recognize and acknowledge.
