Profile

Dr. Thangadurai N is a senior academician, researcher, and research-strategy mentor with over 20+ years of experience in academics and research and nearly 9 years of industry and start-up exposure. He currently serves as Additional Director – Research at Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem since June 2024, where he oversees and strengthens academic research, sponsored projects, publications, and innovation ecosystems across constituent institutions.

He earned his Ph.D. in Wireless Sensor Networks from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and holds a Master’s degree in Applied Electronics from Anna University, an MBA from Alagappa University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology. His academic and leadership contributions span reputed institutions including MCE–Chennai, SRM–Chennai, IARE–Hyderabad, PGP–Namakkal, JAIN (Deemed to be University)–Bangalore, Sankalchand Patel University–Gujarat, and Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions–Bangalore.

Dr. Thangadurai has authored over 180+ high-quality research publications, including 80+ Scopus-indexed and 25+ Web of Science papers, along with 9 books and 13 book chapters, and holds good number of patents.

He has successfully secured and coordinated sponsored research projects with funding support from DST, AICTE, MSME, ISRO, VGST, AIM, NSDC, SSIP, and national innovation and incubation programs. He has supervised over 60+ UG and PG projects, guiding 4 Ph.D. scholars and 7 Ph.D. awarded, and served as an external examiner and viva voce evaluator, actively mentoring faculty to convert research ideas into publishable, fundable outcomes.
