Prof. Dr. Maya Ramesh., MDS, Ph. D,

Dr Maya Ramesh works as Professor and Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology in Vinayaka Mission’s Sankarachariyar Dental College, Salem. She finished her Graduation from Government Dental College, Trivandrum in the year 1995 with, MDS in Oral Pathology with a Gold Medal from Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College in the year 2009, and Ph.D. from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education in the year 2020. She was admitted as a Dental Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow in the year 2021. She became a Fellow of the Indian Board of Forensic Odontology in the year 2021. She completed the Harvard Higher Education Teaching Certificate Course in 2023. 

She is an expert in Problem-Based Learning and conducts faculty workshops for other colleges. She is a member of the Board of Studies, and Board of Interdisciplinary Studies of VMRF- DU. Dr. Maya has more than 70 International and National publications in peer-reviewed and indexed journals. She has 903 Citations in Google Scholar, H Index 17 and i10 index 23. Her topics of interest are Dental Fluorosis, Oral Cancer, Odontogenic cysts and tumours , Dental caries and Problem-Based Learning. She has attended and delivered Guest lectures and presented papers and posters at various National and International conferences and won prizes. She won Best professor Award of Vinayaka Mission’s Sankarachariyar Dental College in the 2023 and 2024.

Dr. Maya is currently working as President, of Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College Alumni Associations, Executive Committee Member, Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and Honorary Secretary, Pierre Fauchard Academy, India Section.
