Dr. M. Prabhahar currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology (AVIT), Paiyanoor. He earned his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli (2002), M.E. in CAD/CAM from Anna University (2004), MBA (Systems) from Alagappa University (2006), and Ph.D. from St. Peter's University, Chennai (2012). Joining AVIT as a Lecturer in August 2005, he progressed through various roles to his current leadership position, guiding 4 Ph.D. scholars to completion with 4 more under supervision. His research expertise in bio-alternate fuels, LHR engines, and IC engine performance has produced over 90 international journal publications, 34 conference papers, 3 granted patents, and 2 textbooks: Unconventional Machining Processes (2015) and Basics of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (2017). Dr. Prabhahar contributes as a Doctoral Committee member for Anna University and others, Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Transportation Management (USA), and Elsevier reviewer (4+ papers monthly). He has delivered guest lectures, chaired sessions, and earned awards including Research Excellence Award 2021, Elsevier Recognized Reviewer, NPTEL Star (2022), and Swayam Mentor Certificate. At AVIT, he leads the Alternative Fuels Research Centre, heads the Exam Cell, and serves on VMRF's Exam Reformation and Board of Studies committees.
