Dr. B. Arul is working as Deputy Director (Research) at Vinayaka
Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Salem. He completed
his B.Pharm. and M.Pharm. from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University,
Chennai, in 1993 and 1996, respectively, and his Ph.D. from Vinayaka Mission’s
Research Foundation, Salem, in 2010. After completing his M.Pharm., he joined
as Assistant Professor at Nandha College of Pharmacy, Erode, and then as
Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Vinayaka Mission’s
College of Pharmacy, Salem, in 1999. Following the completion of his Ph.D. in
2010, he was promoted to Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. During
his tenure, he has published his research work in 216 international journals
and 8 national journals. He is the recipient of the prestigious Chancellor’s
Award of the Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation, for the highest number of
publications in 2023 and the highest cumulative impact factor in 2024. Based on
his research contributions, he was promoted as Deputy Director (Research) at
Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) in October
2025. He has also authored 7 books and 2 book chapters in the area of pharmacy,
and holds 4 invention patents and 8 design patents to his credit. He has guided
6 Ph.D. scholars, with 5 students currently pursuing their Ph.D. under his
guidance. He received training at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario,
Canada, and has visited Malaysia, Singapore, and Canada to present research papers
or serve as a resource person at conferences. He is a life member of various
professional bodies, including APTI, IPA, and IPHA. He has also served as a
resource person for statutory bodies and agencies such as PCI, AICTE, and PVPI.
